Stuffed bell peppers originate from Hungary. This recipe is a lite bit different from the classical version. I have no rice in the stuffing but only taco-flavored ground beef. I served this with an Italian tomato sauce (see Piccata Milanese Recipe) Ingredients

  1. Pre-heat the oven at 200 °C
  2. Cut the bell peppers in half and deseed
  3. Boil the bell pepper in lightly salted water for a few minutes
  4. Rinse the bell peppers in cold water to stop the cooking process
  5. Heat the olive oil in a skillet on medium high
  6. Add the ground beef and fry until golden brown and break up the lumps with a spatula
  7. Add all the spices, cream cheese and water and cook for 5 min until most of the moisture has evaporated
  8. Fill the red peppers with the beef
  9. Add the Parmesan chees on top of the red peppers
  10. Bake in the oven for 20 min or until golden brown
  11. Serve with a tomato sauce
