This is a recipe that has evolved over time. It is perfect to serve at a pool party. With a large grill, it is quite easy to cook for a large group so this works well for a pool party in the summer.


  • 800 g Ground beef
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tbsp Chinese mushroom soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Sweeet chili
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp Sambal oelek
  • 8 Hamburger buns, toasted


  1. Add the egg, soy sauce, sweet chili, garlic, and Sambal Oelek to a large mixing bowl
  2. With an electric hand mixer, mix until smooth
  3. Add half of the ground beef and mix again until the mixture is homogeneous
  4. Add the rest of the ground beef and mix again until homogeneous
  5. Form the mixture into 8 burgers (125g per burger)
  6. Grill or pan-fry the burgers, 2-3 minutes on both sides for medium doneness (60°C)
  7. Serve the hamburgers with your favorite toppings. We normally have lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced red onion, cheese, crisply pan fried bacon, canned pineapple, mustard and ketchup
